A very good looking and decorative piece, in truth, I have not seen an armchair with these proportions for some time, it is based on a George II design but is clearly Regency. The legs are nicely carved and the Oak has an almost rosewood grain to it. The claw & ball feet are as ever, super popular and add a touch of style and class to an already stylish piece
The blue leather was super popular in the Regency era as it was a royal colour
In terms of the condition the front of the frame has been restored as there was an old break, it is now rock solid, everything has been cleaned waxed and polished, the back left leg is missing the end of the foot. It could benefit from full restoration to include the missing piece of timber being replaced and the timber all washed back and French polished, the chair would really pop, I can have this work completed should the new owner wish for the cost price
