This exceptional two piece antique Charles I sterling silver communion set consists of a chalice and paten/diskos.
The chalice has a cylindrical tapering shaped form onto a pedestal and spreading circular foot.
The paten has a plain circular form to a plain circular spreading foot.
The rim of the paten and foot of the chalice are encircled with tooled borders.
Often such communion sets are divided through time; original period sets are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
Condition
This antique communion set is an exceptional gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the chalice and paten, in addition to lion passant to the underside of the chalice foot are all very clear in keeping with age and location.
