This exceptional German Hanukkah lamp was produced in the 18th century by the silversmith Rotger Herfurth. The lamp is designed with a silver shaped backplate adorned with a relief candelabrum motif, which is set within a regnal cartouche and flanked by a pair of rampant lions. The tray of oil lights is arranged beneath underneath a cover, and a detachable light is set to the side. The silver is marked for Herfurth.
