A very good looking and classily designed Regency piece, this chair has the look of the early Gillows chairs, if you google Regency Gillows armchair you will see what I mean. The look and feel is absolutely timeless, this chair looks wonderful in any setting.
The front line of timber is very sculptural and flows effortlessly, I think its early Cuban Mahogany based on the patina, which was used by Gillow’s, the legs are very ornate and hand carved from single pieces of wood.
This is the only one of its type I have ever seen with the reading slope still in place, it is a work of art and would cost an absolute fortune to have made today
The chair has been fully restored to include being hand dyed this lovely deep cigar brown colour, the hide has natural imperfections and marks from honest use and fair ware

CONDITION
Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition.
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
