A fine & stylish antique French Empire Napoleonic parcel gilt and ormolu mounted French Fauteuil de bureau (desk chair), circa 1815.
The chair back and armrest of hooped shaped form, with a pair of parcel-gilt cornucopia supports, the leather seat is tanned to resemble tortoiseshell. The chairs having applique ormolu appliques to the front and back, the chair is raised on tapering legs with parcel-gilt carved lion’s feet to the front and ‘Sabre’ shaped legs to the rear. There is a period paper label to the underside.
The chair is in very good condition, it is stable and comfortable to sit in and is ready to grace your home or office.
