Beautiful and rare original North German “Altona” Secretary, circa 1810-1820. Fine cuba-mahogany, Birch and elmwood veneer. Inlays in different woods. Original fittings in bronze and brass. Center with fold-out writing flap and top with writing drawer. Secretary with secret storage compartments. Top with gallery and “Schinkeldach”. Decorated with some half-columns. Back of the secretary with sticker from Altona and remains of a wax seal (probably) by “Altonaer Waaren Fabrik” This wonderful and rare secretary are in original unrestored stand.
