The dish is finely potted with an octagonal shape using a clear white porcelain, a carefully cut base rim and a lovely rich glassy, very light blue glaze.
The plate is exquisitely hand-painted in a free flowing style, characteristic of the period, in varying shades of a clear cobalt blue. The central well has a wheel motif and the outer cavetto has eight panels which are decorated in superb detail with a flowers alternating with a lady by a fence, all within two sets of concentric blue circles.
We date this fine dish to circa 1700 or possibly slightly earlier and within the Kangxi period range of 1662-1722
A most beautiful Chinese Dish of excellent quality.
